The rotten flu...
I was fortunate enough not to experience morning sickness but my immune system has decided to fail me and give me every other form of illness! I have been sick for a month. With sinus infections and nasty colds...and more recently bronchitis and the FLU!!! It has been horrible! My husband is gone (although he did offer to come home from work to take care of me - I told him not to - because I didn't want to infect him!) and I have been stuck at home for six days. I keep thinking its getting better...then all my nasty symptoms come back! Blah...I hate being sick! I know I sound like a baby but I needed to vent. Oh and the funny part is all the rumors going around...gotta love a small town! Just a few circulating around the school were: severe case of swine flu, that I was in ICU in town, and the best was that I was so sick I had to be taken to OHSU for treatment. None of which are true! I am just home trying to get over this crap...its nasty stuff!

Our first ultrasound...
Today we had our first ultrasound! It was so exciting =) The baby was moving and kicking its tiny little body. We got to hear the heartbeat too. Kevin was with me and it was such a fun experience for us. It definitely made things seem real! Here are a few of the pics they gave us. You can't see much but they said things looked great =)

Deer Season...
Yay for a quick hunting season...and success! Kev left with his brother Friday afternoon around 2:00 and they were suppose to be gone for five or six days. But...they got a 4 point opening morning around 11:00, cleaned it up and decided to head for home. I asked if it was because he missed me (of course he said yes!) but I think the fact that it was snowing and in the 20's (and they were sleeping in a tent!) had more to do with it! They got home around 8:00 last night. And I was very happy to see them =) And Kev is so excited he got a buck - and a pretty nice one too! They even took a few pics!
This was where they were hunting over in Central Oregon.

The first few weeks...
Well I am just over nine weeks. We have our first ultrasound next Thursday...I am so ANXIOUS! It has been good so far...I have definately been more tired then usual and have had an EXTREME appetite! I am starving all the time...which can be frustrating but is so much better then throwing up! I had one day of morning sickness and that was that. However, this past week has been no fun =( Working at a school and having the worst immune system ever is not a good combo! I started to get a cold last Sunday and have been on the couch for the last three days! I have felt terrible...and since I am not very far along I can't take much. But my hubby got off the boat just in time to take care of me for a few days. He even made a trip to town to the Women's Center to talk to my doctor and see what I could take - what a good man! Although I do think he was sucking up a little because he left me again this afternoon to go hunting for five days with his brother! I hope they have fun and have some good bonding time. Though I am sure they will just talk about hunting, fishing and work!
Another fabulous wedding....
It was definitely the year for weddings! My best friend Amaya got married on September 19th and it was perfect! (Minus my recent weight gain squeezing into that dress!) Amaya was gorgeous and her and Andy are so happy together =) I am just so happy for them!!! Amaya has been my best friend for as long as I can remember and it was great to be a part of their special day.

We're having a...
BABY!!!
About a week ago (I know I can't keep a secret very long) I got a postive pregnancy test.
This is the first test. I of course did not trust it and had to take two more...the next two mornings...before I really believed it!
And here are the next two...all three say "pregnant" so it must be so! I was (am) SO EXCITED!!! I wanted to tell Kev so bad but he was at work and I decided I should wait until he got off the boat (which was six days away!!) It was a LONG six days and while I had the intention of not telling anyone before my husband knew...I cracked and told a few. But I came up with a really cute plan on how to tell Kev. The day he got off the boat I was going to get us chinese food. I had bought some fortune cookies and made Kev his own fortune with the BIG NEWS! I was SO EXCITED for him to get home. Seriously longest six days ever...
Here is our dinner...After we finished dinner I asked Kev if he wanted his fortune cookie. He says "No, I don't like them. But I guess I'll see what it says." He goes over to the kitchen sink and opens it. There were two fortunes in it...the one that had been in there before and the one I put in. I had made two cookies the same so which ever he grabbed would say the same thing. He pulls out the fortune (I can't see which one..) throws it on the table and says...thats exciting (totally sarcastic!). Then throws away the cookie. I am not happy...thinking where is the other fortune! He had thrown it away. He was tired and going to sit down and I made him come back over to the table and read my fotune.
Which read....I stuck it right in front of his face so there was no WAY he could miss it. He started freaking out and saying "really? really?" He didn't believe me...but once it sunk in he got VERY excited!!! My plan didn't work perfect (stupid fortune) but he was definitely SURPRISED!! We are so happy and feel so blessed to have a baby on the way. I'm only five weeks along but we're so excited to wanted to share the good news!
