Coaching Volleyball....WHAT?!?!

I have never been a huge fan of volleyball...those who know me know this. Even tho I played...just wasn't my favorite thing! I usually refer to it as "cheerleading in spandex." But last week I got a phone call that is going to require a change of attitude...Our middle school A.D. called and asked if I could coach the junior high volleyball girls. At first I wasn't big on the idea but I have warmed up to it...and am actually quite excited. I now am trying to educate myself enough to become a decent coach! I love the girls that I get to work with so I am very excited about that and I can use it as some good motivation to work out as well! So wish me luck...=) And any advice would definitely be appreciated! I'll keep you posted...

Erin and Josh's Wedding Week!

I spent the last week down in Grants Pass with one of my best friends, Erin. We were roommates at Western and she got married last Saturday. I felt so blessed to be a part of their special day. Her and her husband now live down in New Orleans and I miss her so much! It was great to be able to spend a week with her!!! We were busy all week but we worked and played =] When we weren't getting ready for the wedding we...threw Erin a bridal shower which was a Hawaiian theme, we went rafting on the Rogue, went on a Jet Boat Dinner Trip, got AMAZING pedicures and so many other wonderful things =) It was definitely an unforgettable trip!

This was our exit...Josh's dad was his Best Man and we decided to spice things up with a piggy back ride =)

Mariners vs Yankees....

I got Kev tickets to a Mariners game for his birthday in May and we finally got to go! We've been busy and finding a game when he was home and we weren't busy was a challenge. We had so much fun...other then Kev hating the city and city people and all that goes with city life! Seattle got their butts kicked by New York (11-1)...it was kinda pathetic. But oh well! We were surrounded by Yankees fans but we had good seats. The closing pitcher on the Yankees is a guy that Kevin knows from back home. He is from Warrenton so he was happy he got to see him pitch. And we got to stop at Cabelas on our way home...which made Kev's day. Even tho he didn't spend a dime - I couldn't believe it!

Baby Brooklyn

Our very good friends Kevin and Summer just had their little girl on the 12th...Brooklyn Samantha Bartlett. Poor Summer had a very long labor but it all went great and we're so excited she is finally here and that mom and baby are healthy! We got to see them in the hospital and then stopped by before Kev got on the boat yesterday. Here is a few pics...

I love her dark hair!
Kev with Brooklyn...he is a little intimidated by newborns and I think she is the first he has ever held. Kevin Bartlett just put her in his arms so he didn't have much of a choice! He did great tho =]

The highlight of my husbands life....

My husband would truly go fishing every day if he could...he has been able to go quite a bit these last few months. Way too much fish around the house for me! I don't like seafood =[ But he never gets sick of it...getting up at 4 AM, just sitting around waiting for a fish to bite, not to mention it usual isn't the greatest weather!! I go about a once a week to join in on the fun =] I don't have near the patience he has...its not that I don't like fishing...its just that I like catching! Today we had a good day and Kev gets to add a few more salmon filets to the freezer!

Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday was our one year anniversary. We didn't have big plans...but we had a great day! Kev made me breakfast and then we got ready and went down to Seaside. He took me out to Big Foots - I got a yummy steak! Then we walked around Seaside and got some amazing ice cream cones. They were homemade waffle cones...delicious! Then we came home and had some cake...very healthy day! Funny story...we totally cheated and ate our top layer of our wedding cake a few months ago. So I asked the lady who made our wedding cake if she would make me another small cake for our anniversary. She agreed and it was amazing! And Kev was really excited...we both loved our cake! We are going down to Seattle next week for a Mariners game and staying the night so that is what we are considering our anniversary. But we had a great day together and it has been a wonderful year of marriage. I am one lucky girl and I can't wait for many more years to come =]

We took the girls fishing on Jim Crow Island one morning they were here. They had so much fun in the sand they didn't seem to care that we didn't catch a fish!

Sayge and Laura's Birthday...

So I am going to play catch up...I've been raking hay for my dad the last two weeks and haven't got on a computer. So...Sayge and Laura (my mother in law) share a birthday (July 13th). We had a BBQ at our house with Kev's family. We had a great time and hope everyone else did. The kids had a lot of fun and we ate some yummy food!
