Merry Christmas!

We had a fabulous Christmas. The best part was my hubby got to come home! He was here for about 40 hours...so we got to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day together! We were very blessed. We started the morning opening presents together at home. He got me a new vacuum (Which I am so EXCITED about!!!) and I got him a tool box for his truck and some nice rain gear for work. Then we opened presents from my parents - which included a Wii (Kev has destroyed me at bowling everytime - I need to practice while he is gone!) Thank you Mom and Dad...we appreciate everything so much!

Next we headed to Kev's parent's house and opened gifts with his family. A big thank you to them as well! We were definately well taken care of this year. We all went in together and got my father-in-laws elk mounted for him. He was so surprised!! Then Kev's mom made us breakfast (Yummy french toast and bacon!) They let the dogs in the back room and let them open their santa presents. It was pretty funny! I have never seen dogs try to open presents before...they loved it! Then we headed back home to put things away and get ready for dinner!
Dinner was down at Kev's Aunt house. We had a great dinner and fabulous dessert. I was so full and tired! But we stayed late playing board games...Grandpa Corkey and I dominated in the first game of Scattagories! Actually we barely beat Kev and his mom - but we still won! Not that I am competitive or anything?! It was a great day filled with family and great food! I can't wait until next Christmas when we will have a little one to spoil!

Now we are looking forward to going to McCall to spend time with my family over New Years!

Baby Room Inspiration...

I am quite excited to decorate our baby boy's room. I love decorating and little kids things are so cute...its twice the fun! I have been looking up ideas online. I have white furniture from my mother (Shaylee's old stuff) and we have super cute green and white stripe (and polka dot) crib bedding. So here is my "vision" so far...

We are going to paint the room like this above picture and put in the chair rail. We will do brown (not a dark chocolate brown but a lighter tone) on the top and then green, brown and white stripes on the bottom.

I also am in love with the wall decals. Etsy = my new favorite site!!! I could spend all day on there looking at cute things. I love this saying and want to find somewhere to put it.
As many know...my husband loves fishing! And I thought these next two decals would be perfect. Still baby cute but have the manly little guy look and theme.

I want to get the decals in white to go on the brown walls. I can't wait to start painting and setting his room up! I know I get a little anxious and I will wait a little longer to start the project but I have been enjoying looking up ideas!!!
Between ETSY and baking I have managed to consume most my time. It isn't raining, which is fabulous and I even took Molly on a walk today. It doesn't really feel like Christmas though with this kind of weather. I can't believe it is two days away! All my presents are wrapped, I have made WAY too many cookies, two pies and a perppermint cheescake. I love getting asked to bring desserts - baking is so much more fun then cooking!
Well I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season!

Anticipation...

Sometimes I feel like I am always waiting for something! There is always something to look forward to. Lately the anticipation of finding our what we're having has been the number one thing on my list! Well...tomorrow is the big day! As long as the baby cooperates and lets us get a good look down there. Oh I can't wait...seriously more excited about this then Christmas (And I LOVE Christmas!!!) Hopefully I will be posting soon on whether little bean is a little he or she!
Also...I am still quite excited and anticipating Christmas (and Christmas Break - the greatest part of working at a school!). We got our tree last weekend...I love Christmas trees. And I love having our own tree to decorate and make our own.

Another major anticipation has been my sister Sheryden's wedding. It too has finally arrived...this Saturday her and Jeffery are getting married! I know she is beyond ready for the big day to be here and I am so happy for her. Not so happy that my dress wouldn't zip and we had a small crisis finding a bigger one and getting it altered in a week (and I still don't have it!) But lets pray it will be done in the morning and it will fit for the big day!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I got to come home for Thanksgiving and we were able to spend it at my Uncle Al and Aunt Steph's house. It was actually a small group for my family but we ate some very yummy food and had a great time! My mom, Aunt Teri and I kicked some butt in Pictionary Man...=) Kevin had to work and had his Thanksgiving dinner on the boat. At least they had the good food part of the holidays...

On a side note...it is snowing in Burns right now! Oh I love the snow! Nice to be out of the rain. Hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving!

Hunting & Volleyball

Last weekend was opening weekend of elk season for Kev. He loves hunting...and elk hunting with his family is a big tradition. (Probably bigger then Christmas for all the guys...) It was also the State Volleyball tourney for my little sister, Shelby. Kev stayed home and hunted with his family and I got to spend the weekend in Eugene with my family watching Shelby. The hunting party only got one kill, my father-in-law shot a bull. But they were all very excited! And the volleyball team got 5th place and an award for the highest GPA in state. Good work girls! It is Shelb's senior year and I am so proud of her!

Shelby and I...
The family (minus Dad and Kev) - it was so good to see everyone! My nephews are growing so fast and are so cute! I seriously think Brandon has doubled in size since our last visit.
Sisters...and yes the baby bump is growing!
Kev with his brother and cousins...
More of their hunting group...
Kev with his dad...he is way too interested in the bull to look at the camera tho!

Early Christmas Itch...

This post is mostly for my mother...as mentioned she gave me all sorts of fabulous decorations last weekend. Well I couldn't resist and I put them up...almost everything. (No stockings or the big tree yet...) I love Christmas time - I love the smells and colors and really just everything about it. Also I have three days off this week...Veterans Day and Parent Teacher Conferences (Thursday and Friday). I had too much time on my hands with all these decorations just laying around...

My Story in Photos: "Thankfulness"

My good friend follows the I Heart Faces Blog and I thought this was such a cute post and decided to join! Here is my story in photos - what I am thankful for...

My husbands job...I am so grateful he is able to support us! And that he loves what he does.

Our home! This is last year right after we bought it...I am so thankful to have a beautiful home to call our own.

On a lighter note...MILK!!! I LOVE milk (Only the fatty kinds tho - not that skim stuff that is basically water!). I don't know what I would do without it...

And on a much more serious note...our baby! I am so excited to be starting a family. I feel so blessed to be pregnant and I pray every day that I will have a good pregnancy and a healthy baby! And I cannot wait to find out if we have a little boy or girl in there...

Our little family...even my ADHD dog Molly (Who drives me crazy with her insane amounts of energy but I do love her!)
My husband (with his brother...) I appreciate all he does for me and that he is such a wonderful person. I love him with all my heart!

My sisters! I'm missing two in this pic but these three are my best friends and I don't know what I would do without them. I hate being so far from them but I know they are all just a phone call away!
My family...family is the greatest blessing on earth and I am so grateful for mine! I love them all and I am so thankful for the wonderful examples they all are to me.
My husband's family...I am so fortunate to be blessed with wonderful in-laws. They are great people and are so good to me. They raised a wonderful son and I for that I will always be thankful.
There are so many things to be thankful for! I have truly been blessed in my life. I have a great husband, a wonderful family, the most amazing friends and most importantly I have my faith. I know where I came from, where I am going and I have a relationship with my savior. And that is my story...

Burns Weekend...

This weekend we went to visit my family. We had a BUSY weekend but it was great to be home.
The events of the weekend included:
  • Elk Hunting - no luck for us but my neighbor had some success!
  • State Playoff Volleyball Game - Shelb (My Sister) had a game and they won! Off to state this weekend...lets go BHS!
  • Birthday lunch with Grandma...it was so good to see her =)
  • Inheriting LOADS of fabulous Christmas Decorations from my mother! My husband isn't too happy about my collection but I was quite excited. And now I have the itch to decorate (I know its early!) My mom put all her stuff up and got me in the Christmas spirit!
  • And of course spending time with my family! I wasn't too good a taking pics but we did manage to get the little ones together.

It was a fun weekend and I am glad we got to make the trip over. I'll be back for Thanksgiving and then we'll both be back for Shery's wedding! Only a month away...yay!

I put my nephews hair in mohawk - my brother wasn't a fan! But all of us girls thought it was cute =)

Christmas PJ pics already...oh Mom!
