Two Year Check-Up!

"YAY! No more shots until I am FOUR!!!"

We had our two year check-up this week. Mason is a healthy boy and his body is starting to catch up with his big head (finally!)

Weight: 29 lbs (62nd percentile)
Height: 35.75 inches (82nd percentile)
Head: 51 cm (95th percentile)

He loves Dr. File and did awesome during his appointment!

"Big Fish!"

Kev hasn't had the best luck fishing this year! But he caught his first keeper a few weeks ago with his big helper  =) Thank goodness Bartlett was there to help or they probably wouldn't have got the fish in (at least not without Mason jumping in the creek!) Kevin said Mason was so excited...he just kept yelling "big fish" while trying to jump off the bank!

Daddy turns the BIG 2-7!

May 13th (Mother's Day!) was Kevin's 27th birthday! All our company left that morning and we got to spend the day with Daddy! We surprised him with a new "gun." He has been asking me for a new gun for almost a year and I kept saying "no." He worked overtime last month so we decided to get some cash (because I would have no idea where to even begin buying a real gun!) and bought a nerf gun and put the money in the barrel. When he opened it he didn't see the money...and looked at me like I was a little crazy. "Wow babe, thanks for the gun..." Then he finally found the money and I explained the present and he was in total shock. And eventually super excited...

Mason thought the nerf gun was the greatest thing ever! He loved Daddy's birthday present!

He wanted cherry cream pie for his big day! And of course Mason thought it was his birthday (again) so he had to help blow out the candle!

Happy Birthday Kev! Mason and I love you and are so grateful for the wonderful daddy and husband you are!

Football Birthday Party!

The celebrations continue...Mason pretty much had a week long birthday!

We celebrated with our friends and family on Saturday with a football birthday party! Mason had a great turn out and had lots of buddies to play with! However, mom took pictures of the decorations before anyone came and then neglected to take many pictures during the party! We all had a great time though! Thanks to all our friends and family for helping us celebrate! I sure had fun making everything for the party!

Our "growing" family!

Grandma and Grandpa come to the Coast!

My family (part of them) were able to come for the weekend for Mason's birthday party! We had a full house but we were so happy to see everyone! My parents, Grandma Root, Shery & Balen and Sayge & Shaylee made the trip! Auntie Shey had to stay home and take her AP History test. Erin and Josh also made the trip down from Seattle and we got to see them for the first time in months! It was so much fun having everyone here!

On Friday, Kevin took my Dad fishing. He was a little bummed because they close salmon and sturgeon was only catch and release. They ended up catching one sturgeon and they both had fun (even though Dad froze over here in the damp climate!) We met them at the dock and they took the kiddos out for a boat ride and to let them play on the island! My mom, grandma and sister went to town for lunch and shopping!

Grandpa took the boy on a bike ride...

And Shery gave them haircuts (YAY!)!!

We BBQ'd and did s'mores on Friday night! The weather here has been so NICE we are getting spoiled! (I hope the rain doesn't start up again!) Mason still loves that baseball bat and tee =)

"Fun to be 1... & Cool to be 2" Shirts! I love these boys!

Balen had had enough pictures!

Mason is telling him that binky's make everything better!

Mason with his Aunties!

Loves the "big boy" swing!

Sweet Balen Boy!

S'mores with Grandma!

We were so happy that everyone got to come visit! Thanks for making the trip...although I don't feel too sorry for you because I make it about five times as often as you do =)

Birthday Boy

May 7, 2010 - A nurse handed me this picture two years ago... it was love at first sight! (It was the first time I got to see my baby boy.) I look at this picture everyday to remind myself what a precious blessing it is to have our happy healthy little boy! I can't believe he is two years old!

We had such a fun day celebrating Mason's birthday!

We started with his favorite breakfast...pancakes!

Then we let him open presents from Mommy and Daddy. Kevin wanted to get him a tee (I was quite skeptical... he wanted the real deal not a little toddler tee.) As much as I hate to admit it...my husband was right and he picked out the perfect present!

Mason was super excited about his new tee and bat and balls!

He knew exactly what to do...we didn't show him how to set it up or hit it. He just started swinging away bouncing balls off everything in the house!

(Below is a link to video of him hitting!)

It was a GORGEOUS day so after our nap, we went on a boat ride out to Jim Crow Island and let Mason play in the sand that afternoon. The Columbia is still freezing so he pretty much stayed away from the water! But managed to get sand everywhere! He was a happy boy!

He liked to throw sand...mostly at mommy!

He and Molly could play for hours together! It is so cute watching them... although Molly wishing he could throw it a bit farther =)

After we filled a few bath-tubs with sand we had Grandma Laura, Grandpa Roger, Uncle Beve, Aunt Jordan, Uncle Tim, Grandpa Corkey and Aunt Vienna over for a BBQ and birthday cake!

Mason got to play with his new bubble mower from Uncle Beve. He was trying to blow bubbles like the mower =)

He got to open more presents...which he was quite excited about!

We made him jello cake and had to light the candles three times before we made it through "Happy Birthday" because he kept blowing them out!

Diggin' in!

Playing on his new rocking horse from Grandpa and Grandma!

We had such a fun day with our sweet boy! He was so exhausted but I don't think he quit smiling all day =) Happy 2nd birthday Mason Man! We love you!
