So on September 29th, I passed out in the shower. Kevin was on the boat. Thank goodness the boys were napping. But this incident lead to a MONTH of awfulness (And was preceded by a few awful months for Kev!) Kev initially got sick in July. By the end of August he still wasn't feeling better, went to the doctor, got put on an antibiotic, had an allergic reaction (which ended in an ambulance ride to the hospital). We thought he was doing better but wasn't totally himself. Then I pass out. They ran literally every test possible thinking my brain is bleeding, blood clot in my lungs, etc.. I ended my little stint in the ER with a spinal tap (NOT FUN!). I get home have a follow-up with my primary care doctor he diagnosis me with BPPV (benign proximinal positional vertigo). which caused me to pass out. He has me to these "exercises" and I think I'm on the mend. Well I keep spiking fevers, am sore and exhausted and just don't feel right. They run some more tests, blood test (checking for mono, comes back negative), MRI (looking for a spinal abscess, also negative) and finally tell me that they're going to have to do a 2nd spinal tap and check for meningitis (among other diseases as recommended by OHSU infectious disease department.) So another trip to the ER for another spinal tap...which gives me the WORST headache my life (would totally go through childbirth many time before wanting to endure another on of those!). Every time I would stand up, I would throw-up, for an entire week! It was HORRIBLE!! But they did finally find some answers, it was mono. Apparently a strand that produced a false negative on blood test but showed up in the spinal tap. After a few more doctor appts and another ER trip for Kev, we deducted that he had had mono since July and had never been diagnosed or rested in order to actually recover. Thank goodness Kevin had sick leave and stayed home the entire month of October to take care of me and the boys and the house and cooking {He is AMAZING!}. We are so lucky to have him! It was a very long month and we literally didn't leave the house (besides ER trips and doctor appointments) the whole month!
I had lots of people checking in on us and my sweet friend Chelsey made me the cutest get well candy card!
Our boys lived in the jammies!
Daddy did manage to get a few days of hunting in and killed a little fork-n-horn...YAY for meat in the freezer!
This was Mason explaining to Miller that Daddy killed a fork-n-horn and asking him if he liked it...Miller wasn't too sure!
My awesome hubby, making us muffins! He literally did everything for an entire month. Cleaning, laundry, cooking, kids...even had to get the house ready to show one day!
Since we were stuck in the house for a month {and didn't want to spread our germs) we took a few adventures down to the creek behind our house!
Towards the very end of the month Grandpa had an auction in Washington so he came and stayed with us for a night. We showed him the property and he took the boys to Longview and made Mason's YEAR by buying him the "Green Gator" he has been asking for....forever! Mason loves it asks to ride it every single day. It's the best babysitter ever!
It was a super long month but we are sure grateful for awesome family and friends who helped us out...near and far! And that my health problems were nothing more serious then BPPV and Mono!
